PHPとは
Zend Technology社によって実行エンジンが開発されているwebアプリケーション開発のためのスクリプト言語です。MicrosoftのASP.NETやJSPと同様にHTML中にスクリプトを埋め込み動的なページ生成を可能にします。 最近、多くのwebサイトで利用されており、注目されています。また、XOOPSやWORDPRESSなどオープンソースのCMSなどにも使われています。
ここではPHP5.xをインストールする方法を紹介します。PHP5からオブジェクト指向機能に関して重大な言語仕様の変更があるため、PHP4以前で作成されたアプリケーションが正常に動作しない可能性があることに注意してください。なお、PHP4も下記に説明する方法とほぼ同様にインストールできると思います。

下記のURLより、最新のソースディストリビューションを取得できる。

セキュリティホールが修正されていたり、安定していたりするのでなるべく新しいものを使う方がよい。
インストールの方針
- 日本語表示を可能にする。
- 画像処理関数を有効にする(GDライブラリ)
- MY-SQLの使用を可能にする。
- PostgreSQLの使用を可能にする
インストール
Linux上にソースディストリビューションからインストールする流れを以下に示します。
その前に、画像関係で必要なパッケージがインストールされていない可能性があります。それらを確認します。次のコマンドで、
- libjpeg
- libjpeg-devel
- libpng
- libpng--devel
がインストールされていることを確認してください。
> rpm -qa | grep libjpeg > rpm -qa | grep libpng
なければインストールCDやyum等でインストールしましょう
また、/usr/libにlibjpeg.so、libpng12.soない場合は次のようにシンボリックリンクを作ってください。
> ln /usr/lib/libjpeg.so.62.0.0 /usr/lib/libjpeg.so > ln /usr/lib/libpng12.so.0.1.2.2 /usr/lib/libpng12.so
続いてconfigure スクリプトを使ってMakeファイルを作成します。
>./configure --with-apxs2=/usr/local/apache2/bin/apxs \

注) --without-mysql はmysqlを使用しない場合に付け加える。
あとは、mekeしてインストールするだけです。

インストール後、PHPの設定ファイルを作ります。基本的にはソースに含まれるphp.ini-distを/usr/local/libディレクトリにコピーして、それを変更します。
>cp php.ini-dist /usr/local/lib/php.ini
php.iniの設定
ソースコードにEUC-JP、出力にShift_JISを使用するのであれば、下記のように変更する。

Apacheのhttpd.confの設定
httpd.confに下記を追加する。

あと、DirectoryIndexにindex.phpも加えておくと便利です。
DirectoryIndex index.html index.html.var index.php
インストールの確認
Apacheで公開しているディレクトリに、index.phpという名前で次の内容のファイルを作成して、ブラウザで参照してください。

このとき、右のPHPの情報ページが表示されたらインストール成功です。 細かなインストール構成の確認もこのページでできます。 なお、サーバ情報を流出することになるので、このindex.phpは削除するか外部からのアクセスを制限しましょう

include and lib dirs are looked for under 'dir'.
'flavour' can be one of: ibm-db2, unixODBC, generic
If ',dir' part is omitted, default for the flavour
you have selected will used. e.g.:
--with-pdo-odbc=unixODBC
will check for unixODBC under /usr/local. You may attempt
to use an otherwise unsupported driver using the "generic"
flavour. The syntax for generic ODBC support is:

When build as shared the extension filename is always pdo_odbc.so

--disable-libtool-lock avoid locking (might break parallel builds)
